The Team delivers banking product controlling capabilities to clients around the world - multi-faceted group that partners with all areas of the division to support evolving markets and business requirements. The Product Control (PC) team is a global financial guardian of Banks’ trading and sales activities, ensuring broad and comprehensive, timely and accurate BS, P&L, (+ its analysis) on daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly basis. Independent validation/valuation of trading portfolios would be part of a job. Cooperating with the businesses/new business product groups in integration and evaluation of the new products and businesses into financial arena in a meticulous way, delivery of reliable and significant financial information to the business managers, external business partners and other relevant internal and external stakeholders (including Front Office, Custodians, Brokers, Regulators, Legal and Compliance and other divisions).
Required skills:
- 4 years + experience in Bank, bank’s vendor or Big 4 Product control team,
- Good knowledge and understanding of different derivatives,
- Strong analytical skills with ability to understand complex workflows paired with meticulous attention to detail,
- Strong communication skills to clearly communicate issues,
- Knowledge of financial markets and bank processes and organizational structures (3LOD, FO/MO/BO),
- Knowledge of transaction systems and information systems (Bloomberg, Reuters),
- Ability to organise own work under time pressure,
- Communicativeness, readiness to help and cooperate with team & different departments,
- Sound knowledge of Ms Excel, working knowledge of Ms Access,
- M.Sc studies in Quantitative /Statistics/ STEM,
- Good orientation in current trends on financial markets.
Best candidates would also possess few of the below:
- Skills in practical valuation of financial instruments and analysis of their sensitivity to risk,
- Knowledge of risk management and investment/portfolio strategies,
- Some programming skills in VBA/ Python,
- Some working knowledge of SQL, databases,
- Some knowledge of statistical methods, relevant IFRS.
Few main areas the team is responsible for:
- Effectively contribute to preparation of daily, weekly, monthly P&L analysis report with explanation and commentary for senior management.
- Participate in key systems design, testing and implementations with a vision of recommending improvements, when possible.
- Manage and sustain key control processes with a view to improve process efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide information and analyses in response to ad-hoc needs from various managers and teams.
- Identifying and recommending remediation solution for trade support, technology, financial control and other infrastructure areas to ensure timely & accurate reporting (BS, P&L).
- Responsible for M/E close process (BS, P&L reconciliation, ledger entries, commenting, FS reporting).
