Description & Requirements

Who we are looking for

Required professional background and skills:

  • At least 4 years of experience in machine learning, actuarial or statistical modeling areas;
  • Practical knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts, frameworks and algorithms and ability to explain such concepts to business stakeholders;
  • Practical knowledge of Python or R including common libraries for machine learning and data processing;
  • Practical knowledge of SQL;
  • Creativity and willingness to develop data science related offering;
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills;
  • University degree in Data Science, Actuarial Mathematics, Statistics or related;
  • Very good command of the English language.

We consider as an advantage:

  • Exposure to data science in either life or non-life insurance;
  • Knowledge of cloud based solutions (AWS/Azure/GCP);
  • Knowledge of best practices in MLOps / deploying machine learning models in production;
  • Knowledge of explainable AI techniques and visualisations;
  • Knowledge of SAS (4GL and macroprogramming, SAS EG, SAS VA);
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. Git);
  • Experience with big data processing tools (e.g. Spark);
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. R shiny, Tableau/PowerBI);
  • Exposure to actuarial software (Earnix , Prophet);
Your future role

Our growing actuarial team is looking for new colleagues to join the projects who will:

  • Develop machine learning models (and XAI components to explain those models) in areas such as anomaly detection in IFRS17 calculations, insurance pricing and others
  • Develop PoCs of new solutions as well as deploy machine learning models in production
  • Actively contribute to strengthening of the data science/machine learning offering within the actuarial practice;
  • Develop new products/services and participate in their marketing and sales;
  • Manage junior colleagues as part of larger projects, provide on-the-job training and coaching;
  • Work with clients throughout the whole project cycle: sales, delivery and closure;
  • Work with other Deloitte colleagues from Polish as well as international offices.

Deloitte Central Europe Actuarial & Insurance Solutions (AIS) team operates in a number of Central European countries, also supporting projects in Easter, Western Europe and the Middle East.
