Description & Requirements

Who we are looking for
As part of our Strategy, Risk & Transactions sector, we are looking for an Experienced Senior Associate or Manager to join our Transaction Services team. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Higher education, i.e., a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or similar field is an advantage.
  • International education or/and experience is an advantage.
  • At least 3-4 years of work experience in audit or corporate finance (experience in M&A transaction services is an asset).
  • Pursuing or recently completed a professional accreditation (e.g. an ACCA, MBA, CFA or similar).
  • Strong commitment, client focus, and ability to work quickly and establish effective working relationships.
  • Result-oriented professional with a proactive and rigorous approach.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for the purposes of clearly communicating to clients, stakeholders, and teams.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams with both clients and other Deloitte professionals.
  • Superior skills in MS Excel and Power Point.

Your future role
  • Assessing targets historical and projected earnings and cash flows; hidden contingencies, commitments, as well as the quality of assets and internal controls.
  • Reviewing and analyzing historical trading, cash flow and balance sheets. 
  • Reviewing and analyzing projections and underlying assumptions.
  • Reviewing the adequacy of working capital facilities, including consideration of financing limits, term and covenants.
  • Reviewing and commenting on financial and accounting considerations in investment models.
  • Performing data analysis to deliver corporate finance, financial due diligence, and advisory services.
  • Interpreting information memoranda, business plans, publicly available information on the target business.
  • Identifying and evaluating business, industry, financial, and accounting risks related to M&A transactions.
  • Reporting potential key issues to our client including identifying risks or price affecting considerations.
  • Assisting in structuring purchase price adjustment mechanisms relevant to share purchase agreements.
  • Supporting senior colleagues in day-to-day activities, including business development.
  • Project managing due diligence assignments including client interface and managing an assignment team. 
  • Producing quality deliverables (usually detailed written reports and presentations) within agreed timeline, briefing Partner/Director accordingly.
