Who we are looking for

Database Architect – PostgreSQL

We’re looking for an experienced Database Engineer with deep expertise in PostgreSQL and cloud-native database solutions 🌩️.

💼 Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience working with PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS
Strong background in database architecture, design, and performance tuning
Proven experience with data modeling, indexing, and query optimization
Experience implementing disaster recovery, backup, and high-availability strategies
Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred) and infrastructure automation
Experience working with DevOps teams and integrating databases into CI/CD pipelines
Strong understanding of security best practices, including authentication and access control
Ability to analyze complex data requirements and turn them into practical, scalable solutions
Great communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving

Your future role

In this role, you will:

🗺️ Create and maintain ER diagrams and schema evolution strategies to support system growth.
⚙️ Architect scalable and reliable PostgreSQL database solutions that meet current and future business needs.
⚡ Optimize performance through advanced indexing, partitioning, and sharding techniques.
🔍 Evaluate and apply scaling strategies — horizontal, vertical, or hybrid — based on workload requirements.
💾 Develop robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
🔒 Implement secure authentication, authorization, and role-based access control following least-privilege principles.
☁️ Work with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS Aurora and other cloud databases) to deliver modern, high-availability environments.
Automate database operations using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and integrate with CI/CD pipelines.
🔗 Design and implement efficient ETL/ELT and change data capture (CDC) processes for seamless data movement.
Ensure data quality and reliability through proactive monitoring and validation frameworks.
📊 Use monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, DataDog, or Prometheus to track database performance and stability.
Collaborate closely with DevOps, data engineers, and development teams to align database architecture with application needs.
💡 Stay up to date on PostgreSQL advancements, cloud technologies, and best practices to continuously improve our data infrastructure.
