Who we are looking for

Requirements:

  • Fluency in spoken and written English and Romanian (level C1);
  • Bachelor’s degree in language or business-relevant subject (Tax, Accounting or Finance preferable);
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to discuss project work whilst working with UK Tax teams and clients;
  • Excel and Microsoft Work skills are highly desirable; 
  • Strong team skills, with a willingness to work remotely with a UK based team;
  • Ability to prioritise and manage tasks while working simultaneously on multiple engagements and consistently achieving delivery milestones with superior quality;
  • Professional attitude and demeanour to proactively develop relationships with team members in overseas offices.
Your future role

Responsibilities:

Research & Development

  • Work with clients' Finance staff to identify and collate the relevant information; 
  • Interpret the UK Tax rules governing R&D tax relief to ensure that only appropriate costs are identified; 
  • Work with technical specialists (i.e. Engineers, IT etc.) from the UK to ensure that the eligible activities are appropriately matched to the relevant costs; 
  • Prepare detailed analyses to support amounts included in the R&D claim; 
  • Plan, organize and execute engagements on time and to budget, while ensuring proactive, timely and up to date communication with team members in the UK;
  • Support the more senior members of the group with the preparation of responses to HM Revenue & Customs (“HMRC”) enquiries and business development opportunities. 

Tax Depreciation

  • Work with clients' Finance staff to identify and collate the relevant information; 
  • Manipulate client data sets where necessary to restructure the format so it can be easily analysed using technology, using Deloitte’s proprietary software platforms.
  • Review legal documentation (e.g. sale and purchase agreements, leases and contribution agreements) and interpret the UK Tax rules governing capital allowances to ensure that only appropriate costs are identified; 
  • Prepare detailed analyses to support amounts included in the capital allowances claim for a varied client base, ranging from FTSE 100 clients to small businesses;
  • Plan, organize and execute engagements on time and to budget, while ensuring proactive, timely and up to date communication with team members in the UK;
  • Support the more senior members of the group with the preparation of responses to HMRC enquiries and business development opportunities.
