Pozícióleírás és elvárások

Who we are looking for

We’re hiring an Engineering Manager who blends technical depth with people leadership. You’ll grow high-performing teams, co-own architecture with Tech Leads, and create conditions where engineers do the best work of their careers. You’ll raise engineering excellence (CI/CD, IaC, testing, observability/SRE), manage capacity and delivery with Product/Design, and guide incident response and post-mortems—all while shipping reliable software for a once-in-a-generation, real-time event.

Required skills & experience:

  • 7+ years in software engineering, including 3+ years of people leadership (EM/Lead/TPM).
  • Proven delivery of high-scale consumer/media or event-driven platforms on AWS/Azure/GCP
  • Strong grasp of distributed systems, API-first design, messaging/streaming, caching, and data stores (SQL/NoSQL).
  • Solid SDLC practices, security & privacy by design, accessibility, and performance engineering fundamentals.
  • Tooling: GitHub/GitLab, CI pipelines, IaC (Terraform/CDK), monitoring/alerting (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch), Jira/Confluence.
  • Excellent communication in cross-functional, international settings; English C1+ (Polish preferred).
  • Ability to travel up to 20% (planning, workshops, event rehearsals).

Nice to have:

  • Node.js leadership in backend teams; TypeScript at scale; JVM/.NET or Go a plus.
  • Event streaming (Kafka/Kinesis/PubSub), real-time data, edge/CDN, media/streaming, and peak-load optimization.
  • SRE/observability depth (SLO design, tracing, chaos/incident drills) or performance/reliability engineering background.
Your future role
  • Lead squads: hiring, onboarding, mentoring, career growth, performance, and healthy engineering culture.
  • Co-own architecture & roadmap: API-first, cloud-native, event-driven services; partner with Tech Leads on design reviews and technical strategy.
  • Raise engineering bar: establish standards for code quality, testing strategy, CI/CD, IaC, security, observability, and SLOs/error budgets.
  • Plan & deliver: manage team capacity, sequencing, and commitments with Product/Design; ensure predictable delivery and clear trade-offs.
  • Operate reliably: run incident response, post-mortems, and continuous improvement loops; reduce MTTR and change failure rate.
  • Hands-on where it matters: review critical PRs, support architectural spikes, unblock teams, and mentor on performance/reliability.
  • Partner externally: collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and client tech leaders; communicate decision-ready status and risks.
  • Data-driven leadership: use flow/DORA metrics and team health signals to steer outcomes and invest in the right improvements.
