Who we are looking for
We expect you to have a mix of technical and soft skills:

Technical skills
  • You’ve graduated from a relevant university program (such as, but not exclusively: Business Administration, Business Studies, Economics, Organizational Sciences)
  • Have experience in the field of Organization & Operating Model Design, including exposure to governance design, reorganizations operating model components (e.g., processes, structure, governance, capabilities), and top-level structures
  • Interest and/or experience in Strategic Workforce Planning, such as building workforce demand-supply models, capacity assessments and workforce segmentation analyses 
  • Previous experience that has enabled you to understand how different organizations are structured per departments, number of management layers, supporting functions, etc.
  • Good understanding of what an organizational structure is and awareness of different existing models (structures based on geography, structures based on Business lines, Matrix structures, etc.)
  • Passion for data, numbers, business overviews and comprehensive reports.
  • Experience in data analysis (looking at responsibilities for different roles, workloads, time estimates, etc.)
  • Able to analyze structural and workforce metrics, interpret implications on cost, span of control, and capability gaps
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills; familiarity with tools like OrgVue, Power BI, Tableau or HRIS systems (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) is a plus

Soft skills
  • Effective facilitation and communication skills both verbally and in writing, confident & dynamic attitude
  • Ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders by connecting structure, workforce, and strategy in a compelling way
  • Collaborative mindset, being able to work well with cross-functional, remote, and international teams

Your future role
  • Proficient in English - Communicates proactively and can articulate thoughts effectively in spoken and written communication
  • Applies tools and methodologies related to OD, OMD & WP with some guidance/coaching from more experienced practitioners. Executes different type of documentation (presentations, analysis, plans, job descriptions, etc.)
  • Understands the objective of the assigned deliverables and works towards completing them within the scheduled timeline with guidance. Asks pertinent questions, questions assumptions, and raises risks with respect to quality or scheduled delivery of assigned tasks
  • Drives or actively participates in workshops with the client and takes total or partial ownership of topics presented
  • Collaborates effectively with SMEs across multidisciplinary and global teams, as needed
  • Involvement into practice development (e.g. contribution to content creation for trainings / internal materials, knowledge sharing, initiatives etc.)
At a high level, this is how you’ll do this:

  • Working together with the client to understand their mission, vision, the possibilities and limitations
  • Assessing the current operating model (the combination of people, processes and technology), organization structure and workforce composition to identify misalignments, inefficiencies and capability gaps
  • Analyzing organization-wide and function-specific data to build structural baselines and workforce capacity views, together with modeling scenarios for span of control, layers, workforce size, capability needs and organizational costs
  • Designing job architectures and frameworks that support strategic workforce planning
  • Proposing an optimal solution, that is aligned with the agreed strategy and vision of the company
  • Modelling the future design of the organization and its workforce: how it will be organized, the number of employees and capabilities needed, the new ways of working, etc.
  • Defining how the current workforce can be re- or upskilled and transitioned to the new organization and future workforce design and/or operating model and support in transitioning the workforce

As a Consultant with a OMD, OD & SWP focus, you will work on different projects in multidisciplinary teams. These projects vary in duration and complexity from shorter pure Organizational and Workforce Assessments projects to longer and more complex global organization design and implementation projects. Your home will be the Future Organization team within Deloitte’s Technology & Transformation offering.


Example of daily activities and deliverables for a OMD, OD & WP Consultant :


OD / OMD:

  • Support client working sessions and workshops focused on operating model design choices, organization structure optimization, workforce impact
  • Build org. structure models using specific Org. Design tools (e.g., OrgVue) and translate those into impact views and dashboards
  • Conduct span and layers analysis and interpret results to inform structure decisions
  • Create materials and deliverables such as design principles, capability maps, org. structure logic, use cases and transformation roadmaps
  • Create dashboards and document the impacts of a change in terms of number of employees, cost, existing roles vs. new roles, capability gaps, etc.
  • Review or develop competency lists, job descriptions, job families and capability frameworks as part of broader job architecture framework

WP:
  • Develop workforce scenarios, quantitative workforce supply and demand models and workforce dashboards using internal and external data sources (experience or certification in tools like Excel, Anaplan, OrgVue or Visier represents a plus)
  • Execute data requests and data quality tests, harmonize and consolidate data and upload data into the workforce planning models (experience or certification in tools like Excel, Anaplan, OrgVue or Visier represents a plus)
  • Translate analytical insights into practical workforce scenarios, planning models, and talent strategies
  • Work with clients to develop and tailor strategic workforce planning playbooks and training content
  • Collaborate with HR and business leaders to embed workforce planning into decision-making
